    Description

Here is an opportunity to acquire a handstruck .925 silver approx. 26mm Eight Dougie Dollars coin from the Cascadia Republic.
Cascadia is a biomic landmass that lies within the borders of present day Southern Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Northern California and Idaho.
Thomas Jefferson, our third president wrote of just such a republic around the time he commissioned Lewis, Clark and corps to head west and discover.
The Cascadia movement really took hold upon the publication and adoption of Ecotopia, by Callenbach.  Since then the idea has been hubbling and bubbling, simmering and shimmering until some day when enough intrepid souls come together to pursue their destiny.
This is their first coin issue.  Obverse portrays an example of the rare Cascadian Octopus Parxarbolis, reputed to be the co-primary sea food protein source, along with Salmon, of the Sasquatch.  Some people say the Octopus Paxarbolis doesn't exist, but I can assure you that, as a long time denizen of the Pacific Northwest forests, I have personally spotted this creature nearly as many times as I have the Sasquatch.
