There is no other object that evokes better the tragedy and magnificence of the young king than the mask of gold. This is without any doubt an exceptional artwork and an example of supreme ability of the Egyptian goldsmiths.

Material: This extraordinary sculpture has been made using the very same ancient technique that was used by the Egyptians centuries ago-polished graphite with the aspect of black basalt covered by layers of bronze. The face of Tutankhamen has been further covered by a layer of 24 carat gold. The blue finished have been created by filling out the empty spaces with a powder of blue lapiz lazuli with different mixture to create a homogenous effect, exactly as the ancient goldsmiths of Egypt did. Additionally thanks to the different patinas and sand, the obtained result is so spectacular and resembles the real head of young Tutankhamen.
Every facet of the statue is very much like the original. But I do want to point out that there are no large stones set, all the areas where stones are supposed to be is a crushed powder of the stone, painted in the areas.
