Egyptian Revival Karnak Brass 4 1/2" Pencil Holder or Small Vase

Description

Offered is a small brass item which I first thought was from Egypt, but now know was in the USA by the Benedict Mfg.. This is a vintage item, probably many decades old reverting to the time when ancient Egyptian discoveries influenced American art and manufacture.  The design of what I think is a female winged goddess is repeated both front and back, but larger on one side. There are also traditional Egyptian flowers, maybe lotuses . There is a very nice band of what also could be leaves around the neck of this item.  This piece is only about 4 1/2" in height, a little over 2" diameter at base and about 1 1/2" diameter at top. A handsome and unique item that  would  be right at home on one's desk or bookshelf.
