THIS HAT BELONGED TO A COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR HENRY J GOODWIN. HE SERVED FOR 35 YEARS IN THE US ARMY. INCLUDING A ONE YEAR TOUR TO VIETNAM, ARRIVING DURING THE TET OFFENSIVE AS PART OF THE 6TH FIELD ARTILLERY REGIMENT, AS INDICATED BY THE WINGED CENTAUR WITH A BOW ON THE INSIDE. DURING SERVICE HE EARNED TWO LEGIONS OF MERIT, TWO BRONZE STARS, FOUR MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDALS, AND TWO ARMY COMMENDATION MEDALS. HE HELD THE HIGHEST NCO RANK FOR 17 YEARS.
