    Description

I am offering a ICG MS69 FS 1942-dDd Daniel Carr Re-Strike Jefferson Nickel.
Unlike a lot of my auctions where I say the coin is not as dark as it appears in my photos this coin actually is dark. This is due to the treatment MoonLight Mint applied to it to give it a "Circulated" finish look.
This coin actually has three "D" Mint Marks. There is one on the obverse side under the date.
There are two Mint Marks on the reverse side. There is a Capitol "D" over the dome as there were with silver War Nickels. The second d is to the right of Monticello.
You may notice that ICG doesn't list the coin as dDd, when I called and asked them why they did the mint mark that way they said it was because dDd is an RPM,,,, re-punched mint mark and since these "D"'s are in separate locations they just listed it as a "D" mint Mark.
Dan creates Fantasy Date coins that are over struck on real genuine US Mint Coins.
This coin is a Daniel Carr Moonlight Mint "Fantasy Issue" which means it is a coin that is over struck on a genuine 2003 - 2020 Jefferson Nickel using a date or mint mark that was not actually released by the US Mint to the public.
The coin you see in the photos's is the coin you will receive, this coin is BEAUTIFUL.
    Per Daniel's Web Site:
Defacing of US coins is legal so long as the defacement isn't for fraudulent purposes.
