    Massif's FR Line
Until recently, creating a flame-resistant fabric or garment meant decreasing comfort and reducing critical performance characteristics such as breathability, stretch, and wicking. Massif began with the radical concept that protective flame-resistant gear can perform as well as the best outdoor clothing on the market. Since 1999, Massif has invested tens of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of person-hours engineering a new generation of performance FR fabrics that provide protection for people who take on the world's most dangerous jobs.
Most fabrics are made of combustible materials (such as cotton, nylon, and polyester) and will ignite when exposed to a flame. A flame hazard may be short-lived, but if your clothes catch on fire, the potential for burn injuries is exacerbated. Thus, the most important defining characteristic of an FR fabric is that it doesn't support combustion – meaning that, at least, it won't add to a burn injury; and, in many cases, will protect the user from getting burned by creating a thermal barrier between a flame hazard and the skin.
All of our flame resistant product have the following symbol on the care label:
If you didn’t know, the name, Balaclava, comes from their use at the Battle of Balaclava by the Brits, during the Crimean War, referring to the town near Sevastopol in the Crimea. We designed our own version of this versatile piece of gear utilizing our outstanding Massif fabric to maximize warmth & breathability. With strategically placed seams for improved usability, flat stitching, and stitched anchors at the ear seams for added strength, the Massif Balaclava is super functional and so comfortable you’ll forget you have it on.

We only purchase Government Surplus; therefore, all items are Government Surplus, not overruns or second market items. It could be AF, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard.
We also list articles like these as used, since they are surplus. Sometimes items will be listed as USED, even tho they may be completely new and unissued. Some items which we have received appear to be off the shelve items and not government issue or perhaps articles/items used by military personnel but still considered government surplus as purchased from the government. In those cases we will try to advise accordingly, but all items are government surplus.
Some of our military surplus has been issued to soldiers and is used, other pieces are new and unissued. Our listing will describe the item's condition.
When it comes to condition, please know that each piece will not be exactly the same condition as one another. We inspect every piece and try our best to give honest and accurate description of our merchandise
There may be variances in how specific military items appear due to year of manufacturer, who was the manufacturer, etc.  For example, one pouch may have black snaps while another may have foliage green snaps or the shade of OD Green may vary in two pouches.  This is not considered to be a deficiency.  It's just how they're made.
New items: For new or unissued military items, some items come to us individually packaged and sometimes in bulk.   New items purchased by the government in bulk may not be individually packaged.  We do individually inspect to ensure they are in new condition.
NOS: Some new items may also be considered “NOS” which is New Old Stock, meaning that they are in new condition and never issued to a soldier, but that they may not have been manufactured recently.
Military items may have been in government storage for an extended period of time.  Therefore, some pieces may have dust or dirt. We don't consider this to negatively impact its condition.  If you have any questions on how to wash a specific item, we'll do our best to answer your questions.
Generally, we do not launder our military surplus items before sale.
Military items generally do not come with user instructions.  However, there are many instructional videos and information found online, plus we're here to help too!
ITEMS WITH THE TITLE “USED” ARE IN A USED CONDITION AND MAY CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING: DIRT AND SOIL STAIN, TAPE PRESENT (used to silence moving parts or to keep access straps out of the way) UNIT, PERSONNEL OR DEMILITARIZATION MARKINGS (DRMO).  AREAS OF ABRASION, SMALL HOLES, OR OTHER SIGNS OF USE.  MINIMAL REPAIRS MAY BE NECESSARY TO MAKE THE ITEM FULLY FUNCTIONAL.
ITEMS WITH TITLE "EXCELLENT TO LIKE NEW CONDITION” ARE IN GREAT CONDITION HOWEVER DUE TO THE PROCESS OF STORAGE, TRANSPORTATION AND MINIMAL USE BY THE MILITARY THERE MAY BE THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS PRESENT ON THE ITEM:  DIRT AND SOIL STAINS WHICH CAN MOSTLY BE REMOVED WITH A GOOD WASHING. UNIT, PERSONNEL OR DRMO.  TAPE PRESENT (used to silence moving parts or to keep access straps out of the way) or TAPE RESIDUE WHEN TAPE REMOVED. MINIMAL SIGNS OF WEAR TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO AREAS OF ABRASION AND OTHER SIGNS OF WEAR.  THE ITEMS ARE FULLY FUNCTIONAL FOR THE INTENDED PURPOSE THEY WERE DESIGNED FOR.  WE MAKE METICULOUS INSPECTIONS TO ENSURE THE ITEMS SOLD IN THIS CONDITION ARE IN GREAT CONDITION; HOWEVER THERE MIGHT BE AREAS THAT ARE OVERLOOKED AND ARE CONSIDERED NORMAL WEAR FOR MILITARY SURPLUS ITEMS.
ITEMS LISTED AS "NEW" MIGHT HAVE UNIT MARKINGS AND OR TAPE PRESENT ON THEM BUT WERE NEVER USED AND ARE SOLD IN NEW CONDITION.  NEW ITEMS ALSO HAVE THE POSSIBILITY OF WEAR SIGNS AS PER ABOVE THE STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION PROCESSES THEY GO THROUGH WITH THE MILITARY CAN LEAVE THEM WITH APPARENT SIGNS OF USE.  ADDITIONALLY NEW ITEMS MAY HAVE DIRT AND STAINING PRESENT DUE TO THE STORAGE/TRANSPORTATION CONDITIONS NOTED ABOVE. UNIT, PERSONNEL OR DEMILITARIZATION MARKINGS AS REQUIRED BY DOD ON CERTAIN ITEMS.
GOOD:  This condition varies widely depending upon the specific item and is generally your best bargain for the price. Generally speaking “GOOD” means the item will be faded and will show more signs of previous use and, in some cases, need
    minor
repair. For example: Alice packs, LBV’s, duffle bags, laundry bags and wet weather bags may have small holes, small tears, loose stitching or defective or missing snaps. However, these items are still serviceable and will not affect the intended use of the item. In most cases our GOOD condition simply means a lesser grade of VERY GOOD and may have been repaired or show signs of fading or minor defects but, again, will NOT affect the
    intended use
of the item. Another example would be our Goretex jackets, rain gear and M-65 field jackets and other similar textiles, whereby although they will not have any holes, rips or tears, they may have been repaired and the majority will have fading. We do test all zippers (ZIPPERS ARE CONSIDERED PART OF THE FUNCTIONAL CONDITION OF A GARMENT AND ARE TESTED AND IN GOOD WORKING ORDER, UNLESS NOTED IN A SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION), however, all snaps and other closures (Except Zippers) may or may not work but will not affect the
    intended use
of the item. May or may not have soldier’s name on the label or item. May or may not have “DRMO” stamp on the label or item. Please Note:
This Government stamp does not mean the merchandise is defective. This stamp is used strictly to keep track of Government inventory.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the item you order will or will not have a soldier’s name or DRMO stamp on the label or item unless otherwise stated in the specific auction.
FAIR OR ACCEPTABLE:  This condition is the least desirable condition and can vary widely depending upon the specific item.  Generally speaking, “FAIR” means the item is serviceable, but in need of laundering, repair or general TLC. Definite previous use or damage in storage, whether staining, soiling or holes in any or all combination of above circumstances, but considered repairable and serviceable.
NOTE: NO MATTER WHAT CONDITION IS STATED ON THE ITEM THESE ARE MILITARY SURPLUS ITEMS! EXPECT TO FIND SMALL IMPERFECTIONS.  MOST NEW ITEMS ARE THROWN IN A BOX WITH OTHER ITEMS, NEW DOES NOT MEAN THE ITEM WILL ALWAYS COME IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX, BAG OR OTHER CONTAINER AS THE MILITARY USUALLY DOES NOT SAVE THESE.  WE TAKE PRIDE IN DESCRIBING THE ITEMS TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE.  WE ARE ALWAYS FAIR WITH CUSTOMERS WHO ARE NOT SATISFIED AS APPARENT IN OUR FEEDBACK.  AGAIN PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS GENUINE MILITARY SURPLUS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH US IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR INQUIRES INTO ITEMS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THAT ARE NOT IN OUR EBAY STORE AS WE ARE ALWAYS ADDING NEW ITEMS AND HAVE SOME NOT YET LISTED THAT ARE IN OUR INVENTORY.
