End Fed Half Wave Antenna Transformer 49:1   FT-240-43. Condition is New.
I have been a Ham Radio operator for over 57 years and enjoy antenna building. I am the builder of this transformer and have tested it extensively on 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters.
This size is designed for your standard 100 watt transceiver. It utilizes the larger FT-240-43 Toroid. (See my other listing for the lower power version)
I have a 66 foot end fed antenna that I'm using and have found the SWR across all 4 bands to be 1.5:1 or less! (using MFJ 259B analyzer) Every transformer I sell has been individually tested to make sure it meets my expectations. I have performed dozens of signal comparisons with my full size G5RV and in the majority of the cases the EFHW was the winner.
You can, of course, also use this on 80 meters with a 134 foot wire if desired. It has been my experience that connecting only the antenna wire and nothing else works very well! NO Ground, No Common Mode Choke, only the coax and antenna wire. For permanent installations you may want the ground for lightning protection. I personally am using 50 feet of RG8X which works fine. Remember that the coax is part of the antenna, so don't make it too short.
