As far as can be determined, the unit appears complete in good overall condition with all authentic original parts. Minor cosmetic defects noted as expected with an item about 80-90 years old. Observable mechanicals are clean and in good working order free of rust and with a typical grease/oil odor of a well maintained machine. The hand crank, turntable and speed control was tested and works as apparently intended. No proper disc was available to test the audio capabilities, needle appears in good condition however may need to be serviced and/or replaced. Seller did not have the unit cleaned or serviced (to avoid inadvertently damaging any sensitive components), sold AS-IS. A copy of instructions found on the internet is included.

    1930-1940's Thorens Excelda made in Switzerland Portable Mechanical Wind-up 78 RPM Phonograph Gramophone
    This is an authentic Thorens Excelda gramophone, one of the last and most successful lines of the portable phonograph or commonly called folding camera-phones as it resembled the pocket cameras of that time. It was made sometime in the 1930-40′s by Thorens, the famous Swiss manufacturer of high-end audio equipment in throughout the 1900's. This model is designed to play a 10-inch 78 RPM disc.  As far as can be determined with a cursory visual inspection and research on the internet, this phonograph is complete with all original parts. The condition overall is good for it's age with minor cosmetic defects noted.  The case is Red with metal, faux-lizard, crackle finish which shows some minor cosmetic scratches and paint chipping.
    The leather carrying handle is intact and in sturdy condition with some paint flaking noted.
    The 2.5″ turntable is covered in brown felt with very little wear noted, and the record is secured by the same screw that secures the case cover.
    The unit apparently operates as intended, it cranks up, turntable spins and is appropriately affected by the speed control, which is operated by a lever at the back of the gramophone. The mechanicals appear well-serviced, almost completely free of rust and smells recently greased/oiled. Seller did not service the unit to prevent any possible inadvertant damage to sensitive components. A 78 rpm 10-inch disc was not available to test the unit, the needle appears in good condition however may need to be cleaned and/or replaced. A print-out of some instructions found on the internet is included. Sold AS-IS with no
