Description
Hello dear customers. I present to you:Vintage Army Ushanka Officer Cap City Kaunas 1979 Size 56 USSR Soviet A.
Hat with earflaps - a winter fur, cloth or combined hat (originally - for men), a widespread headdress in Russia.
Ushanka got its name because of the presence of turn-down earpieces (headphones, “ears”), in a raised form, tied at the top (crown) or at the back of the head with a braid.
Since 1931, the supply of the Red Army consisted of the so-called hat (Finca), in general, similar to a hat with earflaps, but with a fold-back nape that covers the ears instead of headphones.
Back in 1934, a black hat with earflaps was accepted to supply the Naval Forces of the Red Army (Navy). The hat with earflaps consists of a cap, a cloth black cap, a visor and a nape with headphones. Headphones in the lowered position are tied with a braid, and in the raised position they are tucked inside the back of the head.
In accordance with the order of the People's Commissar of the Navy No. 426 dated October 20, 1939, the cloth cap was replaced with a black leather cap, a decorative button covered with leather was added in the center at the top. For hats of senior and senior officers, black lambskin fur is used, and for hats of middle officers and long-term servicemen, black cygkey fur is used.
Since 1940, a hat with earflaps was introduced as a uniform winter headdress of the Red Army and the police. Simultaneously with the cap with earflaps, a steel helmet (helmet) SSH-40 is introduced for supply, which was worn with a balaclava, but some wore it over a cap with earflaps. Initially, such hats were made of light-colored fur sheepskin, then they began to be made gray. In the Navy, they were also introduced, but in black. During the Great Patriotic War, they were made on a mass scale, including from faux fur, which was explained by the need to meet the needs of the army in the field.
In the Armed Forces of the USSR, earflaps were an element of the military uniform.
In the Soviet Army and in the Navy of the USSR, privates and sergeants (foremen) wore hats with a star, in the 1970s they established the wearing of a star with an emblem (framing the star with golden leaves).
A hat with earflaps consists of a cap, a cap and a crown. Fur collar, consists of a visor, a nape with headphones and a braid for tying them; is made for the personnel of the platoons of the Ground Forces and the Air Force from gray astrakhan fur, and for the platoon of the Navy - from black astrakhan fur. The cap, visor and backplate are made of cloth: for the personnel of a platoon of the Ground Forces of steel color, a platoon of the Air Force - dark blue, for foremen and sailors of a platoon of the Navy - black, for officers of a platoon of the Navy - from black leather. The crown consists of a dolly and a circle, quilted on wadding with a lining. In the center of the visor: a cockade with an emblem - for officers of platoons of the Ground Forces and the Air Force, an emblem - for officers of a platoon of the Navy, a five-pointed star with an emblem - for sergeants, soldiers, foremen and sailors.
- Appendix to the order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR on February 16, 1971 No. 29 "On changing the special dress uniform for the personnel of the guard of honor companies"
Generals and colonels in uniform wear astrakhan hats instead of hats with earflaps, and Navy servicemen who are equal to them wear black astrakhan hats with a visor.
For regions with a cold climate, a model of a hat with earflaps with long earpieces was produced (in jargon - “one and a half”). Unlike ordinary earflaps, it had 1.5 times longer headphones (“ears”) that covered the ears, cheeks and neck below the chin, and when folded “up” the headphones overlapped each other, which is why the hat had a kind of "one and a half" look. In the lowered position "from below" - the headphones were fastened with a special button or tied with a braid. Also, the braid was used when wearing the cap "up", "back" ("on the ski").
Depending on the supply standards, the personnel (l / s) of the USSR Armed Forces received hats with earflaps made of natural or artificial fur.
Currently, earflaps are worn with cockades installed for the army, aviation and navy.
