Last model from communist era, war issue, from 1991 and 1992.
With 1st type post-communist ''transitional'' metal badge, introduced in October 1991 to replace abolished communist red star insignia. Used by enlisted, NCOs and Officers.
This type of beret was produced in very limited series only in 1991 and 1992 (w
ith distinctive green leather hem and lace)
. It was used (along with pre-1991 models) with ''transitional'' Airborne metal badge only during initial stage of war 1991-1992. During the same time this type of beret was used also for the by Reconnaissance, Military Police & Commando (Task Force) units of JNA, but with regular JNA insignia.
In 1992 it was replaced with maroon variant.
